Ode to Shoe.

Today is one of the saddest days of my life.

It is the day that I am forced to retire you-- one of my favorite pairs of shoes I have ever owned.

I found you at a hole in the wall shoe store...a diamond in the rough. And you have been by my side for 5 years. ..::You have been the staple and finishing touch to so many outfits. You have brought me countless compliments and have supported me no matter what my weight. Your 5 inch heel made me deceivingly tall and make legs look thinner than they actually are.::..

>>You have been there for me on many dates, lots of church meetings, family outings, and even some big events in my life...like:

  • High School Graduation
  • Phantom of the Opera
  • The Spice Girls concert
  • All my European travels
  • and even my engagement pictures

{{R.I.P. my beautiful, summery, floral print wedges. You were good to me and will be greatly missed.}}

September is my favorite month.

Duh. And this is why: it's the official beginning of Fall, it starts out with a nice, long, 3 day, Labor Day weekend, and not to mention {MY BIRTHDAY}.

So here's my September recap...

For Labor Day weekend my whole family (minus Sister Nelson) got to go to Cedar City and stay in our neighbor's beautiful cabin. It was so much fun to get away from the heat and the city for a few days and just spend time together... [[riding 4-wheelers, playing games, talking/laughing all night, and making S'mores.]] We had such a blast. I just love my family.

And then the best day of the year finally came... September 8th-my birthday. I opened presents with my family, had a yummy ~marble bunt birthday cake~ and got everything I wanted...$$$lots of shopping money!$$$ Then, Nicholas took me out for a nice dinner to one of my favorite restaurants- Carrabbas. Mmmm. He definitely spoiled his new 22-year-old wife. :)

Even though I was sad to see my birthday go I couldn't be more excited about FALL! Autumn time is my favorite time of year. I just love the colors, the fashion, the decorations, the yummy desserts, football games, and especially Thanksgiving. I just dream about the day that I get to go back to North Carolina during the fall....

absolutely breathtaking.

Oh and by the way, here's my newest purchase to get myself ready for this wonderful time of year...

mmmm! I just love it.

Oohh September how I've enjoyed you. Can't wait until next year.

Nicholas Ross Anderson = BA

That's right my husband is a BA...Bachelor of Arts (History major--Philosophy minor). On Aug. 12th Nick graduated from BYU. He worked so so hard these last 2 semesters and I couldn't be more proud of him. My mom and younger siblings came up for the ceremony and Nick's parents, sister and grandparents joined the celebration too! It was so much fun and I just loved being the proud wife up in the stands cheering too loud and taking way too many pictures.

The wonderful family and cake that we celebrated with. Mmmm!

Hooray for Nick and Hooray for graduation!!

Nevada residents.

Right before our North Carolina trip we packed up our cute little Provo apartment and moved back to Las Vegas. It has definitely been {{a very bitter-sweet experience.}} We (especially me) love being back in Las Vegas and getting to be so close to all my family...but we miss our apartment and getting to hang out with Hayley, Nick's parents, and his grandparents all the time.

Now that we're settled in and both have jobs we really are loving our time here. In August my family has 4 birthdays in 2 days...Rex and Miles share a birthday on the 21st and Mom and Nina share a birthday on the 22nd. As you can guess, it's always a pretty crazy celebration and I am SO glad we got to be here for all the madness.

Miles turned 3 and Rex turned 13 on 8.21.2011

Mom is still young and beautiful :) and Nina turned 11 on 8.22.2011

The best part about being back in Vegas? Well, besides never missing a birthday party or a Sunday family dinner our favorite thing is getting to spend time with our 5 nieces and nephews. We just love them so much. Joel and Derek have already taken advantage of our love for these babies and asked us to babysit a couple times, but we absolutely love it.

I'm so glad to be back in the town of 115 degree weather and all you can eat buffets- the place where you find slot machines in gas stations, grocery stores, and the airport- the city where bowling alleys and movie theaters are in casinos-home of the UNLV Runnin' Rebels- and the stomping grounds of the big, crazy, constantly growing Nelson family. Ahh, home sweet home.

NC-SC-GA

We spent the last two weeks of July traveling from North Carolina to South Carolina and down to Georgia. We went with all of the Andersons and it was SO much fun.

We started out in North Carolina and went to the beach to visit Nick's brother- Lucas, sister- Gretchen, and our beautiful niece - Maddie. We had too much fun spending time with the whole family, Phillip-Katie & Gracie, and playing in the warm Atlantic Ocean water...

All the Andersons finally together. :)

Then we went to Nick's hometown...Salisbury, NC. I LOVED it there. I finally got to meet Nick's best friend, Phillip. We had so much fun with him, his wife-Katie, and their gorgeous daughter-Gracie. Can't wait for them to come visit. ;) I also got to see Nick's house that he grew up in and all his high school "hang outs". It was my favorite part of the whole vacation. Salisbury is just so charming and beautiful...
{I definitely would not mind living there someday.}

Eating at Cristo's with the Smiths. P.S. I'm addicted to wings.

Hanging out at the Gupton's. They have SO much land and it's all absolutely gorgeous.

After North Carolina we headed down to South Carolina to spend time with Nick's brother and sister in law- Chris and Meg. We had a blast with them...playing cards, watching movies, going out to eat, and just hanging out. >>It was so hard to say goodbye.<<

Lots of Poker playing...Nicholas was the champ.

Our favorite restaurant -La Hacienda...we went there twice in one week.

Chris & Meg...we love them and miss them too much.

Then we finished off our trip by visiting our good friends Brent & Lauren Herman, who are living in Georgia. We always have so much fun with them and always end up laughing way too hard when we're all together. We miss them and hate that they live across the country now. :(

We didn't get any pictures with them while we were in GA but here's one of all of us in Cancun to remind you of our super fun friends.

We had so much fun traveling with our family and getting to spend time with so many loved ones...it was the perfect way to end our summer of vacationing and come back to real life.
