A very Sunday appropriate post.

...Probably my most favorite thing I've ever seen in my life.

all mine.

Every time I open the door to my home, holding hands with my husband, and seeing my beautiful Christmas tree all lit up {I get a huge rush of butterflies}

(please ignore the full library of books on the desk...poor nick has had lots of read this semester.)

Christmas time is a whole new experience now that I'm married and have my own little, two-person family. Besides the fact that we have no money (which means not as many decorations as I would like), it is so fun to celebrate this holiday season as newlyweds! I could not be more excited about my first Christmas with my new life, my festive apartment, and my Nick. ♥

Someday...

Nick will be an excellent dad.

We got to babysit Lily and Violet about a week ago and we had so much fun! The best part of the night for me was seeing [[Nick dancing and playing with these sweet little angels and how much they loved him]]. Violet reached for him more than me and Lily was always yelling for her "piince chawming" to watch her do pretty twirls and dances. I can't wait to see him with our kids, someday.

In honor of Thanksgiving...

I will list just a few things that I have been grateful for in my fun life lately.

  • #1 is my husband. duh. He calls me his princess and keeps me warm when it's snowing.

  • Dumbledore stopping by my humble home on the night of the Harry Potter premier. What an honor.

  • ::5 Guys Burgers & Fries:: Nick introduced me to this little burger heaven last week and I loved it so much that I even contributed to the comment wall.
Please don't judge my drawing...they only had a few colors and it's very hard to capture the true essence of Nick's dreamy hair with crayons/stick figures.

  • The wedding of my beautiful friend, Sierra, this weekend in the St. George temple. It was wonderful and I'm so happy for her and James.
Mr. & Mrs. Rock

  • Being an Aunt. I am so blessed to have these adorable children in my life.

I ♥ them.

  • [Surviving a terrifying, blizzardy, icey, extra long drive home from Las Vegas last night.] I don't want to talk about it too much but let's just say...there were lots of prayers and tears in our car last night.
  • Getting to spend lots of time with The Anderson's this week at Kirsten's play and Thanksgiving dinner.
  • The celebration of our {1 year anniversary, Nick's birthday, and his graduation} in this beautiful place...

Cancun

With these fabulous friends...

Brent & Lauren Herman

It's still 7 months away but it's officially booked and pretty much all I can think about.

So there you have it. My very short, not even somewhat close to complete, current thankful list. I know, I know... my life is way to good to be true. I'll stop bragging now.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just when I thought he couldn't get any sweeter, he comes home from work with these...

I him.

Don't worry Thanksgiving, I got your back.

{Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday}. Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas... it's my favorite holiday too. You're allowed to have 2 favorites right?? I just get the warmest/happiest feeling when I think of this wonderful fAmiLy fiLleD HoLidAy. From the busy women cooking in the kitchen, the gorgeous fall leaves, football and the parade on the t.v., to sitting at the table talking/laughing/and be thankful for all we have. It's the best.

Now here's the problem. After October 31st all the Halloween decorations and candy are immediately replaced with red and green Christmas gear... completely neglecting my beloved holiday. Go ahead, flip through the radio stations...Christmas music! Hello world... It's barely week of November! [[ Please let Thanksgiving have a whole special month just like Valentine's Day,St. Patrick's Day, 4th of July, my birthday, Halloween, and every other holiday.]]

Soooo Happy November everybody...let's put all the red and green on hold for a few weeks and not forget which holiday this month is really for.

FYI

I have the cutest nieces and nephews in. the. world. I know everyone says that, but I really am telling the truth. Don't believe me?? Take a look...

Nixon

Lily
Miles

Violet

Maddie
I know. They are all to die for. Needless to say, [[Nick and I are under a lot of pressure to have children half as cute as these kids.]]

Well the big news is that we've been blesssed with another darling Nephew! Derek and Lindsey had their third son yesterday (Nov. 4th) and we couldn't be more excited about it. He is currently name-less and we haven't met him yet but we can't wait to hold that precious baby and {give him all the aunt Paigie & uncle Nick love he deserves.}

..::We love you sweet baby Nelson::..

'Tis the season

When winter/fall rolls around I only have a few things on my mind...Thanksgiving, Christmas, and {muddy buddies} aka my favorite snack ever. It's guaranteed I'll have a constant supply this year because whenever I look up at the snow covered mountains I comment to Nick, "The mountains look like muddy buddies, and now I'm craving them." So if these beautiful, snowy, Utah mountians create the same craving for you...come on over to my place and share this tasty treat with me. :)

Dear Nick,

Thanks for the best 4 months of my life. Marriage, so far, has been a huge adjustment but also super fun and I wouldn't want to do it with anyone but you. Thanks for putting up with me all the time...I know I can be weird and hard to deal with sometimes. For example, my strange OCD quirks, or when I get mad at you for not putting the toilet seat down, or how I complain everyday about how much [I hate winter and am not ready for snow], or when we were hanging pictures and made you redo it because it was slightly crooked, or when it's ::that time of the month:: and I'm either crying or getting mad for no reason, or when I put my freezing cold hands and feet on your bare skin, or even the other night when I got scared that there was a raccoon in our kitchen and made you check all the cupboards for me - you never ever complain and always know how to deal with me/calm me down/make me happy. Thanks for being super sweet to me and never yelling at me or telling me I'm being completely ridiculous when I know I am. You're my best friend and I love you. Thanks for promising me 4 months ago that you would be mine for eternity. ♥

{love, your blissfully happy wife}

A penny for my thoughts, oh no I sell them for a dollar.

I'm obsessed with this song right now...

I heard the song {"Hip To My Heart"} a few months ago and loved it but couldn't find on itunes anywhere and I had no idea who sang it. Then this song came out and I instantly fell in love and was finally able to find out who they are... The Band Perry. My sis and I downloaded the cd and I'm lovin it. Her voice is so beautiful.

Good news!

...I have lots of good news :)

Hayley moved up to Provo at the end of August and us Nelson (and one Anderson) sisters have been having a blast.

I had an amazing birthday all thanks to [[my family, in-laws and wonderful husband.]] We celebrated all week long with a delicious family filled birthday breakfast at Kneaders, 2 birthday dinners, a fabulous homemade birthday cake by my mother-in-law, a night out with my man, and a new camera. I was a very happy 21 year old.

The leaves on the trees are starting to change and I can't get enough of it. We have a gorgeous view of the mountains right outside our door and I just love it!

>I'm slowly but surely learning how to cook.< Last week I made salmon, potatoes, and asparagus and it was goooood. This is probably the 3rd of 4th real meal I've made since we've been married and they have all been pretty good so I guess I should keep working at it. Nick was really impressed with this salmon meal and so was I. :)

Nick and I got a new car! After a long and stressful search we finally decided to get a 2008 Mazda 3. And yes, we know that EVERYONE in Provo has a Mazda but we don't care anymore because we are so in love with it.

General Conference is next weekend. Saturday night I had the opportunity to attend the General Relief Society Meeting with my sisters, aunts, cousins, and Grandma. It was so good and got me super excited for General Conference coming up. I just love getting to hear from our Prophet and apostles. What a blessing.

In 2 weeks I finally get to go home for my beautiful friend Jordan's wedding. She has been waiting for this for a long time and I'm so happy for her. It's a great excuse to go home and I cannot wait!

And last but not least, yesterday marked the {3 wonderful months} I have been married to this super cool guy with the fabulously swoopy hair and gorgeous blue eyes.

confessions...

  • I went jogging today for the first time in about 4 months and my weak/out of shape body wouldn't have been able to make it without Celine Dion's musical motivation blasting in my ears.

  • I could eat whipped cream and peanut butter plain. Not together...separately, but nothing else with it. Delicious.
  • My red fleece robe and wedding shoes are two of my most prized possessions. I wear my robe and admire my glitter shoes everyday.
  • I hate the song "I can feel it in the air tonight" by Phil Colins. Just hearing the 3 seconds of that song puts me in a bad mood.
  • I have never understood the phrase "talk is cheap". Nick tried to explain it to me but I already forgot what it means.
  • I get way too emotional about everything. Especially when I think about my little brother Rex growing up. I want him to be a little boy forever. He turned 12/got the priesthood/passed the sacrament/started Junior High last month and I just about cried my eyes out. [I'm going to be a wreck with my own kids.]

  • I cannot go a day with out chocolate...It drives my husband in sane.
  • The first time I actually cooked a meal on my own was a couple weeks after I was married. ::I need a lot more practice::
  • The {chocolate molten cake at Chili's} is heaven on earth. I did a little happy dance the last time I had it.
  • I would be perfectly happy if I never go camping again for the rest of my life. [[I don't see the fun in being dirty, having no restroom, sleeping on an uncomfortable cot/ground, dealing with bugs, and being freezing cold at night.]] 5 years of girl's camp was enough for me.
  • I still get butterflies on a daily basis because of the things my husband ♥ says to me. I'm too in love.
  • Having 2 of >my beautiful sisters< up here in Utah with me is the greatest blessing. Talking/laughing/ hanging out with them is my favorite. I don't know what I'm going to do when Brooke leaves.
  • I married Nick for his dimples...but it's okay because he says he married me for my eyes.
  • I'm the happiest girl in the whole world.
