Good news!

...I have lots of good news :)

Hayley moved up to Provo at the end of August and us Nelson (and one Anderson) sisters have been having a blast.

I had an amazing birthday all thanks to [[my family, in-laws and wonderful husband.]] We celebrated all week long with a delicious family filled birthday breakfast at Kneaders, 2 birthday dinners, a fabulous homemade birthday cake by my mother-in-law, a night out with my man, and a new camera. I was a very happy 21 year old.

The leaves on the trees are starting to change and I can't get enough of it. We have a gorgeous view of the mountains right outside our door and I just love it!

>I'm slowly but surely learning how to cook.< Last week I made salmon, potatoes, and asparagus and it was goooood. This is probably the 3rd of 4th real meal I've made since we've been married and they have all been pretty good so I guess I should keep working at it. Nick was really impressed with this salmon meal and so was I. :)

Nick and I got a new car! After a long and stressful search we finally decided to get a 2008 Mazda 3. And yes, we know that EVERYONE in Provo has a Mazda but we don't care anymore because we are so in love with it.

General Conference is next weekend. Saturday night I had the opportunity to attend the General Relief Society Meeting with my sisters, aunts, cousins, and Grandma. It was so good and got me super excited for General Conference coming up. I just love getting to hear from our Prophet and apostles. What a blessing.

In 2 weeks I finally get to go home for my beautiful friend Jordan's wedding. She has been waiting for this for a long time and I'm so happy for her. It's a great excuse to go home and I cannot wait!

And last but not least, yesterday marked the {3 wonderful months} I have been married to this super cool guy with the fabulously swoopy hair and gorgeous blue eyes.

confessions...

  • I went jogging today for the first time in about 4 months and my weak/out of shape body wouldn't have been able to make it without Celine Dion's musical motivation blasting in my ears.

  • I could eat whipped cream and peanut butter plain. Not together...separately, but nothing else with it. Delicious.
  • My red fleece robe and wedding shoes are two of my most prized possessions. I wear my robe and admire my glitter shoes everyday.
  • I hate the song "I can feel it in the air tonight" by Phil Colins. Just hearing the 3 seconds of that song puts me in a bad mood.
  • I have never understood the phrase "talk is cheap". Nick tried to explain it to me but I already forgot what it means.
  • I get way too emotional about everything. Especially when I think about my little brother Rex growing up. I want him to be a little boy forever. He turned 12/got the priesthood/passed the sacrament/started Junior High last month and I just about cried my eyes out. [I'm going to be a wreck with my own kids.]

  • I cannot go a day with out chocolate...It drives my husband in sane.
  • The first time I actually cooked a meal on my own was a couple weeks after I was married. ::I need a lot more practice::
  • The {chocolate molten cake at Chili's} is heaven on earth. I did a little happy dance the last time I had it.
  • I would be perfectly happy if I never go camping again for the rest of my life. [[I don't see the fun in being dirty, having no restroom, sleeping on an uncomfortable cot/ground, dealing with bugs, and being freezing cold at night.]] 5 years of girl's camp was enough for me.
  • I still get butterflies on a daily basis because of the things my husband ♥ says to me. I'm too in love.
  • Having 2 of >my beautiful sisters< up here in Utah with me is the greatest blessing. Talking/laughing/ hanging out with them is my favorite. I don't know what I'm going to do when Brooke leaves.
  • I married Nick for his dimples...but it's okay because he says he married me for my eyes.
  • I'm the happiest girl in the whole world.

All in one month's time.

One month ago I made the best decision of my life and {married the greatest man in the world}.

Ignore me in that picture and take a look at my husband. Look at that gorgeous, smooth, handsome, not frightening face. >beautiful<.

Now take a look at what I woke up to on the morning of our one month anniversary...

The Honeymoon... A series of unfortunate events.

Where do I even begin? We had quite a few problems trying to get on our honeymoon. It's a very long, detailed, frustrating, hilarious story. So if you have the time call me and I'll tell you the whole thing...maybe. Here's the very condensed version...
  • Woke up Sunday morning and rushed to the airport at 4am to make our 6:00 flight. Ran to security to hear that we can't go through because the name on my passport is [Paige Nelson but on the ticket it says Paige Anderson.]
  • Run back to the ticket counter where the lady tells us she has no idea what to do. We miss our flight. I start crying. She starts crying. She finally reissues my ticket to Paige Nelson and books us for a flight to Miami, where we will stay over night and have a flight to Aruba in the morning.
  • Come back to Vegas airport that evening. Flight to Miami is delayed for 2 hours.
  • Land in Miami around midnight. They don't know where our luggage is....they say it will take 3-5 hours to find it. We decide to go without it.
  • Get to hotel room...two single beds and reeks of smoke.
  • Wake up Monday morning, get to airport plenty early and ready to get to Aruba. Find out our flight is cancelled and rescheduled for Tuesday morning.
  • They won't give us our bags. Our 2nd night/3rd day in a row without clean clothes or any toiletries. I start crying.
  • Stay over night in a nice hotel and have fun eating pizza, playing UNO, and watching tv.
  • Land in Aruba Tuesday afternoon. Overly excited to be there.
  • Nick's bag is the 2nd one off the plane. The wheels are broken on his 50lb bag. Mine....never comes. Was sent to Antigua. We're told we would receive it at our hotel around 11pm.
  • Get to our beautiful hotel. Excited to see our room. Open the door and see :sandals and beach toys: all over the place. Front desk boy (with a huge flakey rash on his forehead) sent us to an >occupied room<
  • I start laughing so hard I can't walk. Nick is livid, hurls the broken 50lb bag over his shoulder, marches down the hall to yell at rash head. (Don't worry...he kept his cool when we got to the front desk.)
  • Finally get to our real room. I put on swimsuit I bought at Walmart. It was mis-sized. Bottoms were 2 sizes to big. No beach. We go to bed.
  • Wake up. No bag. Was sent to wrong hotel. Finally get it around noon.
  • We hurry down to the GORGEOUS beach. Finally start relaxing.

  • Nick looks at me and sees red bumps all over my arms. I stand up and see them all over my legs too. Hives.
  • Leave beach to find Benadryl. Takes 2 days to find. I take it and am knocked out for the whole afternoon. Nick goes to pool by himself, I join him later half awake and drugged.
  • Next day at the beach....Nick gets the same hives. I still have them too.
  • We both take the Benadryl and pass out for the afternoon.
  • Fly home to Vegas Saturday. Sad to leave breath-taking Aruba, but good to be home.

Yes ladies and gentleman...that was the condensed version. Don't let all these mishaps fool you...we really did have a great time. And we eventually got to the point where we could laugh about it. Thanks again to my amazing parents for giving us this vacation...the location and hotel
were beautiful. At least we left that trip more in ♥love than we got there and now we have a honeymoon story that blows all other "bad honeymoon" stories out of the water.

p.s. When we finally got to Aruba we also realized we forgot a camera...so sorry about the bad quality/lack of pictures. We had to buy a disposable one.

n + p = eternity

Our big day finally came...{{we're married!}} The wedding day couldn't have been more perfect. My Grandpa Rex performed the sealing and it was beautiful. I just loved walking into that room and seeing so many of my loved ones in there smiling at me and supporting me. I am so lucky that I got to have so many friends and family there to share this special day with me. Nick and I agree that the sealing was definitely the highlight of the day but the rest of the day was fun too. We took some pictures at the temple and then headed to Queensridge for the ring ceremony and reception. My breath was taken away when I walked into that gorgeous room. [My mom] and her friends did an amazing job decorating. The cake, flowers, bridesmaid & niece's dresses, and reception were all exactly what I wanted and pictured. I could go on and on about the best day of my life but I'll end it by saying I am so grateful to be sealed to Nicholas Ross Anderson. He's everything I've ever wanted in a husband and I love him so much.

I'm going there somday...

My whole life I've sung in primary "I love so see the temple, I'm going there someday", and dreamed about going into that beautiful white building next to the mountain. Well yesterday was the day. [[It was wonderful]]. It was the most special experience of my life... so far. I was able to go with my dad, mom, my brother Joel, his wife Valerie, my brother Derek, his wife Lindsey, my grandparents, a few ward members, and of course my amazing fiance Nicholas. I loved it...every minute of it and cannot wait to go again. I am so blessed to be a member of the true churchand that I can receive so many blessings. I love my beautiful family and I'm so glad I'm sealed to them and that I will soon be {sealed to my prince charming.}

r.i.p.

Sometimes...only sometimes, I over exaggerate. I say I will die if I don't get a certain pair of shoes or some chocolate or something that I really want...and I admit that I can kind of get a little ridiculous. But this time I. MEAN. IT. I will literally kill over and die if I don't get tickets to the {Tim McGraw & Lady Antebllum} concert in July

+

...There's nothing better.

So will someone please inform Nicholas that it is extremely important to get these tickets?? I have a feeling [he won't listen to me]. He thinks I get dRaMAtiC. Oh puh-lease.

He is good, so good

Pause the music at the bottom of the page and listen to this beautiful song by Carrie Underwood. It is so sweet and perfect for what I'm feeling right now. I promise you'll love it. {Brings tears to my eyes every time}

Mama you taught me to do the right things
So now you have to let your baby fly
You've given me everything that I will need
To make it through this crazy thing called life

And I know you watched me grow up
And only want what's best for me
And I think I found the answer to your prayers

And he is good, so good
He treats your little girl like a real man should
He is good, so good
He makes promises he keeps
No he's never gonna leave
So don't you worry about me
Don't you worry about me

Mama there's no way you'll ever lose me
And giving me away is not goodbye
As you watch me walk down to my future
I hope tears of joy are in your eyes

Cause he is good, so good
And he treats your little girl like a real man should
He is good, so good
He makes promises he keeps
No he's never gonna leave
So don't you worry about me
Don't you worry about me

And when I watch my baby grow up
I'll only want what's best for her
And I hope she'll find the answer to my prayers
And that she'll say

He is good, so good
And he treats your little girl like a real man should
He is good, so good
He makes promises he keeps
No he's never gonna leave
So don't you worry about me
Don't you worry about me
Mama don't you worry about me
Don't you worry about me

Nick is everything a mom would want for her daughter. I really am the luckiest girl in the world.

I'm in love...

His name is Nicholas Ross Anderson. He is...
  • super funny
  • a righteous priesthood holder
  • the sweetest guy you'll ever meet
  • from North Carolina
  • a hard worker
  • tall
  • masculine
  • really good at playing guitar
  • totally in love with me
  • a basketball/soccer player
  • a return missionary
  • wrapped around my finger :)
  • gorgeous with his blonde curly hair, bright blue eyes, and adorable dimples
  • the most gentleman-ly man I've ever met
  • and most importantly my fiance.
He's everything I've ever wanted and he's mine ~forever~. He has changed me and made me want to be a better person. I must admit though, we are totally a Provo stereo-type...exactly what I swore I would never be. I know, I know. But we're so in love and so meant to be. Here's our story...

It was my second day in Provo and I was still bitter that I had to leave Vegas for this awful place. I was at church and I walked into Sunday school to see a gorgeous, well dressed boy standing at the front of the classroom getting ready to teach the class. He proceeded to teach a great lesson which made me even more attracted to him but I just kept my feelings to myself. I was later told by my roommate that she has a huge crush on him and that I should keep my distance because he's a "player" because he didn't kiss her after hanging out with her a couple times. I know, it doesn't add up...I don't know why I listened. I wasn't too upset to hear that though, I figured he was too good to be true and I wasn't really interested in dating anyone anyways.

Well the next week at church he came up and talked to me after sacrament meeting and I thought he was so nice and pretty funny, but in my head I was thinking "Of course you're super charming. You're a player and you know exactly what to say to girls." Then he came and sat next to me in Sunday school and complimented my shoes. (Someone must have told him that's the way to get to my heart.)

The next day he was texting one of my roommates asking her about me and eventually asked for my number. I didn't want to get involved with "a player" no matter how cute his slight southern accent is or how his smile made me want to faint, so I told her not to give it to him. Well that night the girls had convinced me to go to a party with them and I agreed to go if I could take my own car and leave early (I never go to parties, but this time I felt like it wouldn't be such a bad idea). I was ready way before them and sat on the couch to watch some basketball while I waited for them and the boys that were coming to pick them up. The doorbell rang and when I opened the door all I saw was blue eyes and dimples. He had come with the group of guys that we were going to the party with. [I wanted to die] I felt so awkward that I had just denied him my number and now he was at my door. Well he ended up sitting with me while we waited for the girls and then, thanks to his friend Jason, he rode with me to the party "because there wasn't enough room in their car." Right.

The car ride was perfect. We totally hit it off. When we pulled up to the party I looked at him and said, "Umm do you just want to go do something else instead of going to this party?" What?! So completely out of my character. I am never never that forward. He gave me a cute smile and we went back to his apartment where we ignored all the calls from his friends wondering where he was and we watched The Prestige. We ended up talking until 4:30 in the morning and when I got home I knew that I definitely had feelings for him. The next night he came over and said he felt something special between us and I agreed but first I had to make sure he wasn't what I thought he was. So I questioned him and he set things straight.

Well, he kissed me the next night, swept me off my feet, came to Vegas to meet my family, won their hearts, proposed April 1st, and will be my husband on June 26th.

Like I said...as much as I hate to admit it, we're such a typical Provo love story. And we could not be happier or more in love. I can't wait to be Paige Nelson Anderson
